Quick Start Guide
Get CloudMonitor up and running in under 5 minutes. This guide covers installing the agent, creating your first dashboard, and setting up basic alerts.
CloudMonitor supports Linux, macOS, Windows, and Kubernetes. The agent has no external dependencies.
Step 1: Install the Agent
curl -fsSL https://get.cloudmonitor.io | bash
This single command downloads and installs the CloudMonitor agent. The agent runs as a lightweight background process and automatically detects services running on your host.
Step 2: Configure Your API Key
cloudmonitor config set api_key=cm_live_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find your API key by signing into the CloudMonitor dashboard and navigating to Settings → API Keys.
Step 3: Start Monitoring
cloudmonitor start
The agent begins collecting system metrics immediately. Within 30 seconds, you should see data appearing in your dashboard at https://app.cloudmonitor.io.
Enabling Integrations
CloudMonitor ships with built-in collectors for popular services:
- PostgreSQL — Query performance, connection pools, replication lag
- Redis — Memory usage, hit ratios, key evictions
- Nginx — Request rates, response times, error rates
- Kubernetes — Pod metrics, node utilization, deployment status
- AWS / GCP / Azure — Billing, resource utilization, service health
